My Piece in the Puzzle

Throughout November and into December, The Grow Center has been, in partnership with Project Sun, hosting another session of “My Piece in the Puzzle.” “My Piece” is a program designed to equip individuals with the resources and skills to identify their piece in the puzzle of systemic racism in Kankakee County.

Creating a shared vocabulary of the components of racial construction, development of racial identity, diversity, equity, and inclusion, participants will be equipped to engage in the courageous conversations necessary to promote racial equity.

By listening to the shared lived experiences of BIPOC and White persons within safe spaces, our community will have the opportunity to identify where racism lives and where our individual pieces of the puzzle perpetuate or challenge patterns of inequity.
